Do your lips feel rough, bleed, have parts of your skin lifting or painful? Those are some signs of chapped lips. This can be caused by changes in the weather, frequently licking your lips, dehydration, vitamin deficiency etc. just to name a few.
Don’t worry, this can be easily dealt with using simple home remedies. Here are a few ways to hydrate and soothe your lips:
- Aloe Vera: Apply aloe gel to your lips. This contains vitamins A and C that neutralize the toxins from the environment, antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. It will moisturize, cure, rehydrate and speed up the healing of chapped lips.
- Coconut oil: By using this, the fatty acids in this oil help to nourish and moisturize the lips preventing dryness and flakes. It also contains antioxidants which help keep the skin healthy and youthful.
- Honey: Has been used for centuries in skin care and is known for its antibacterial properties which help to prevent infections. It’s also a natural humectant meaning it is able to draw in moisture and keep your lips moisturized. It can also be used to lighten your lips.
Now all three of these remedies are natural. You can use these ingredients by themselves or you can opt to purchase products with these ingredients. If you aren’t already using any of these, you can do a patch test before to see how your skin will react.
Nevertheless, using any of the above resources should get your lips smooth and hydrated. Enjoy!
