Welcome to Capital Femme. We’re happy that you have found your way here. Let me just say that this space isn’t solely for those new to the faith. It’s also for you wherever you may be in your journey.
I want to emphasize the importance of repentance in your walk with Christ. Repentance is non-negotiable when it comes to salvation.
Scriptures about Repentance: Mark 1:15, Luke 13:3, Acts 3:19.
So what is repentance? The short biblical definition of repentance is “a change of mind that results in a change of action.” (Acts 26:20)
The book of Acts tells us more about repentance in regard to salvation. In order to be saved, you must believe that Jesus is Lord and Savior. You must change your mind in regard to Christ. Whatever beliefs you may have had about Jesus Christ that do not align with that simple fact, I encourage you today to let it go.
Believe in your heart and mind that Jesus Christ is Lord. Say it out loud.
Here is a prayer of salvation: Heavenly Father, I believe you sent your son Jesus Christ to save me from my sins. I confess today that Jesus Christ is Lord. Please Lord, forgive me of my sins and help me to turn away from them, to live a life more pleasing to you. Save me from myself and the enemy who wishes to destroy me. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
For those who have already accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Repentance is a continual process throughout our walk with Christ. It’s not a one and done type of thing.
I want to encourage you to be honest and open with the Lord about your shortcomings as a Christian. None of us are perfect. You may feel shame, inadequacy or even unworthy of forgiveness.
But God wants you to run to him when you fall short.
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).
By no means does this mean to take advantage of the goodness of God. Which will only be to your detriment.
